Data We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information we obtain when you use our services.
- Account and profile: When you sign up or use your account we collect name, email address, password (stored securely), and any profile details you add such as age or career preferences. We use this to create and manage your account and to tailor your experience where applicable.
- Simulation and learning activity: We collect data about your use of simulations and tasks, including which simulations you start or complete, your answers and submissions, task attempts, scores, XP earned, hearts and coins, league standing, and progress on quests. This allows us to run the product, show your progress, power leaderboards and leagues, and improve our content and scoring.
- Usage and technical data: We collect information about how you use the site, such as pages visited, device type, browser, and general location (e.g. country or region) where relevant. We may use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy.
- Payment and billing data: When you purchase a subscription, billing information (such as name, billing address, and payment card details) is collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store full card details on our servers. We may retain records of transactions (e.g. plan type, amount, date, and last four digits of card) for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal purposes.
- Support and communications: If you contact us (e.g. via email or a contact form), we keep the content of your messages and our replies to provide support and improve our service.
How We Use Data
We use the data we collect to run, secure, and improve Leaply and to communicate with you.
- To provide and maintain your account, simulations, leaderboards, leagues, quests, XP, hearts, coins, and related features.
- To personalize your experience, for example by showing relevant simulations or content based on your progress and preferences.
- To analyze how the product is used so we can improve simulations, tasks, and the overall experience.
- To send you important service updates, security notices, or (where you have agreed) marketing or product news.
- To respond to your requests and provide customer support.
- To process payments, manage subscriptions, and handle billing-related communications via our payment processor, Stripe.
- To enforce our terms, prevent fraud, and protect the security of our services and users.
Retention & Security
We keep your data only for as long as needed to provide the services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. For example, we retain account and progress data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion for backup and legal purposes. After that, we delete or anonymize the data where possible.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption where appropriate, access controls, and secure infrastructure. No system is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong password and to keep your login details private.
